Lets Talk About Organizing Your Online Business Routine

Today I have an article for you on how to organize your online
business routine, so that you can be more productive and more profitable.

I hope you are feeling very proud of yourself because having an
online business is a tremendous accomplishment that provides
you with income as well as pride in yourself. Isn’t it nice to be able
to stay at home and to quit the daily commute to an office through
congested traffic? You bet it is!

OK, I am assuming that you have settled on a niche and hopefully
it is making you some money online.  Now it’s time to think about
some other ways that you can make your environment a little
more efficient, productive and profitable.

That is what this article is all about. One of the first things you
should do is take a look at where and how you work.

Does your office produce a real working environment and a goal
oriented space? That means, you should keep a desk that has the
necessary papers and tools available within easy reach so that
you do not have to waste time looking for things.

Here are some basic recommendations:

a stapler and a hole punch
a filing system with trays or with folders
pens, pencils and markers
package of blank CD’s
a phone
a scanner and a printer

Another good idea is to have a  mailing station set up on another
table if you do a lot of mailing packages, tapes, or CDs. Have all
the accessories you need such as mailing envelopes, tape,
address labels, zip code directory, etc. available and within easy
reach.

Keep your main desk clean and use space so that there is a
feeling of “productivity” when you sit at your computer. Do not have
schedules of the kids and other things in your life imposing on your
work environment. When you are at your desk, spend the time
contemplating your work and what you want to accomplish for that
time because it is so very easy to wake up and find you have
spent two hours reading email and checking out links.

Making a check list the night before to keep on track of your next
day’s activities, is a very good method to accomplishing more
than you think possible. Crossing items off your list makes you feel
like you have worked hard and gives you a good sense of pride.
This helps propel you into your next activity and refresh you for the
coming situations. Keeping the list in priority status also keeps
you on track and gets the most accomplished for the day.

Having some diversions like soft music is also a good relief for the
mind. Creating a background that keeps you in a good frame of
mind makes for more productive work as well.

It is also a good idea to get up and stretch once in a while.
Go to the refrigerator for a water or get an apple to eat while you
contemplate the computer screen and your work. Remember, you
are your own boss, so there is no one to tell you that you cannot
eat at your desk! However, there is also no one to tell you that you
should not spend working time playing games online, either, so
you have to make yourself do what is on your schedule and your
priority list to grow your business. It is just a matter of learning the
appropriate methods to enable you to work in the manner that
seems best and most efficient for you.

Once you are serious about your workplace and your workday, you
will find a tremendous sense of confidence and pride. You will
also discover that your days will not only become more productive
they will become more profitable too!

Please post your comments. I’d love to hear from you!

Profiting From Your Newsletter

Newsletters have been around a while and they’re not going away anytime soon. Why should they when they can be so profitable for you and give value to your readers? Offline or online, newsletters are one of the ways you can spend a little time to get great results; better bang for your buck, if you will.

You may have started a newsletter way back when as a means to educate people on the topic you are an expert in. While this is a noble and enjoyable endeavor, by itself this tactic won’t make you a lot of money. Think of how you can monetize your newsletter.

While there are many formats your online newsletter can take; from straight no-frills to fancy template, your newsletter should have these elements:

1. A friendly atmosphere where people are encouraged to give feedback and/or ask questions.
This helps build a relationship, a sense of community between your readers and you. It’s the bridge from where they’re currently standing over to your paid product offers.

2. Personality.
Yes, a newsletter needs personality, preferably a little of yours. Briefly tell what you’re up to. Generally keep it short and positive, although every once in a while a little teeth gnashing will help some readers to relate. You could also give them a peek into the inner workings of your successful business. People love to see “inside”; it makes them feel like insiders.

3. Table of contents.
Put yourself in your newsletter readers’ shoes. What do you like in a newsletter? To be honest, most people aren’t going to read the whole thing and will go to the sections that interest them. That’s okay. It’s better that they read some of it and get value from it and maybe buy something than opt-out and never read any of it.

4. Valuable information.
Your newsletter shouldn’t be fluff. People are busy, give them what they WANT and as quickly as possible. By having this newsletter, you are the expert in your field. That’s not to say you should be all important and stuffy, just wear the title humbly and impart your information in a straight forward, easy to read manner.

5. An ending with a click.
People need some place to click next when they get to the end of your newsletter. This is where you put your promotion, hard or soft. Don’t get too crazy with it because you want people to read it and click, not skip it because it’s too long.

Before you begin, write up an outline that you want your newsletters to follow. For example:

- what you’ve been up to (brief, somewhat personal)
- article
- tip
- question for discussion, survey, or contest
- article
- promo

Once you have your outline fine-tuned, make it into a template and use it each time to help you put your newsletters together faster.

Perhaps the hardest part to doing a newsletter is staying consistent with how often you publish it. Once you’ve got it perfected and you see positive results such as increased sales of your products or affiliate products and an increase in membership, you will look forward to doing each new issue.

Do You Use These Two Traffic Methods To Build Your List?

Today I want to talk to you about  Article Marketing and Forum Marketing and how you can use them to get more traffic to your squeeze pages.

Let’s start with….

Article marketing - This is the simple process of submitting articles that you have written to article directories. It’s a great traffic tool if used correctly. It’s especially great because it’s free! Most of the time when someone uses article marketing they use it to promote an affiliate product, but for list building it is even better. This is because the reader is able to get something from you for free, which enhances the click through rates from your resource or bio box.  It is a fantastic way to get more traffic to your squeeze page, but it’s not the only free way.

Now lets talk about…..

Forum marketing - This is a great, easy, and fast way to get your squeeze page noticed. Chances are for whatever niche your website or product is related to there will be dozens of forums on that topic.  When searching the forums, look for threads that you can participate in.  After you find and join the forum take the time to update your profile page and set up a good signature file.  The signature file will usually allow you to add links to your products, website or in this case your squeeze page and it will be shown at the bottom of  every post that you make.  When you post to the forum be sure that you follow the rules and don’t spam the the threads with blatant advertising.  You want readers that see your post to think of  you as a knowledgeable person in your niche and click on your profile and signature links.  If you can try to post around 5-10 posts a day that are relevant and useful to the conversations on the forum; this will bring free traffic to your squeeze page and also raise your Google ranking.

List building is an extremley important part of your online business success and  when you use these two list building methods there is no limit to the amount of targeted traffic you can receive for free!
